Both Rob and Bruce have been playing guitars of various kinds for decades, in bands of various shapes and sizes. As The Remnants, they combine their talents to produce a clean, uncluttered, and consistently pleasing acoustic sound. Vocal duties are shared, and guitars are frequently interchanged - sometimes two acoustics, sometimes acoustic and electric, and sometimes guitar and bass. The result is a set of classy, polished acoustic covers of folk and pop songs, with a high standard of musicianship, and great vocal harmonies. The music is cruisy and easy on the ear, but quite varied, traversing a number of genres, and including a decent dose of Kiwi music. Some of the artists that feature on their set list include Alison Krauss, Dave Dobbyn, Crowded House, James Taylor, Jason Mraz, Bob Dylan, Kasey Chambers, Neil Young, and Julia Deans.
